James is a distinguished attorney licensed in Missouri, boasting over two decades of extensive experience. His expertise lies in health care law and advocacy, with a dedicated focus on enhancing access to health care for the deaf community. Together with his wife, Anne Frost, James co-owns a sign language interpreting agency.
Born deaf, James embraced Deaf culture at the age of 16. He is a versatile communicator, proficient in both spoken language and sign language, and adept at lipreading.
James holds the notable distinction of being the first Missouri-licensed attorney who is deaf and hard of hearing. His tenure at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri spanned over ten years, during which he amassed invaluable experience in family law, Medicare, Medicaid, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Program, and Social Security. Following his time at Legal Services, James expanded his expertise to include criminal law, contract law, personal injury law, and estate planning.
